"Just like beautiful women, also buildings can be clad in noble garments" - this is the philosophy of star architect Dominique Perrault. For him, metallic fabrics represent the "haute couture" in architecture. The variety of creative solutions with metallic fabrics - in exterior, interior and object design - is unlimited. The manifold aesthetics and the strong functionality determine the wide range of applications of the material: Façades appear as shimmering mantles for buildings or become precious sun screen elements. They offer protection against wind and rain as semitransparent filters. Ceilings and walls change into projection screens. Semitransparent partition screens structure spaces and become light sculptures via special illumination. The optical impression changes due to the interplay between opaque reflection elements and transparency, between light and shade. The flexibility of the woven structure enables the forms to be varied in a creative way. Hardly any other material can be tensioned over large dimensions without any visible seams. The robust durability of stainless steel is in line with the intelligent facility management. |
